The everyday tech problems that eat up your time

Small problems become big frustrations fast. These are the issues we hear most often from residential clients across London and Hertfordshire.

🐌

Laptop that takes forever

It takes five minutes to boot up, freezes when you open Chrome, and you've just been putting up with it. Most slow PCs can be significantly improved without buying a new one.

📶

Wi-Fi that doesn't reach

The signal is fine in the kitchen but dead in the office, bedroom, or garden. We diagnose the issue and recommend the right fix — whether that's a simple setting change or a better router.

🖨️

Printer that hates you

"It was working yesterday." Printers that appear offline, won't connect, or only print half a page are remarkably common — and almost always fixable in one visit.

📱

New phone or laptop setup

You've got the new device but you don't know how to get everything moved across properly. We set it up the right way and make sure nothing important gets left behind.

😰

Worried about losing everything

No backup for your photos, documents, or years of work. We'll set up a reliable backup system and explain how it works so you're not relying on luck.

🔐

Account locked, password chaos

Can't get into your email, Microsoft account, or Google account. Or you've got 30 different passwords written on bits of paper. We help sort it out safely.

  • Video call setup for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet
  • VPN configuration and connectivity
  • Secure access to work files and cloud storage
  • Second monitor and peripheral setup

How a home visit works

1

Call or message us first

Describe the problem briefly. We'll tell you whether a visit is needed or whether remote support might fix it faster.

2

We agree pricing upfront

Remote sessions from £39. On-site home visits typically £59–£120. Agreed before we start — no open-ended invoices. If an issue is misdiagnosed before a visit, we'll agree on a revised quote before work begins.

3

We fix the problem properly

Most home visits take 1–2 hours. We diagnose, fix, and explain what happened in plain English.

We flag anything else worth knowing

If we spot something that could cause a future problem, we'll mention it — no pressure to act on it.

We do not unnecessarily upsell services. If we determine that a more expensive solution is necessary, we will discuss it with you upfront, no obligation.

Common questions about home IT support

Remote sessions start from £20. On-site home visits start from £39 for callout plus the fee for the work undertaken. For more complex jobs — like a full device setup and data transfer — we'll quote a fixed price before starting. No open-ended billing.
We're based in Enfield and cover London and Hertfordshire for in-person visits. Due to proximity this most commonly includes Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Waltham Forest, and surrounding areas. For many issues, remote support is also available — meaning we may be able to help without a visit at all.
Yes — for many issues, a remote session is faster and more convenient than a home visit. We'll let you know upfront whether your problem is suited to remote support or whether a visit makes more sense.
It depends. We'll give you an honest assessment. Many older machines can be significantly improved with a clean-up, more RAM, or an SSD upgrade. If it genuinely isn't worth fixing, we'll tell you — and can help you choose and set up a replacement if needed.
Yes. We support Windows PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. Most home setups are a mix of different devices and operating systems, and we're comfortable with all of them.
We'll be upfront with you about what's possible in a single session and what might take more time or require specialist parts. We won't drag things out — if something requires a further visits or sessions, we'll explain why and give you a clear plan.
